September Massacres
This was a wave of killings
in Paris and other cities from
September 2-7 1792 There
was a fear that foreigners
and royalists would armies
would attack Paris and that
the inmates of the city's
prisons would be freed and
join them. About 1200
prisoners were killed in total
This made a profound impression
abroad, where the massacres
were publicized as proof of the
horrors of the revolution. (0h 10min, sep 2, 1792 y – 11h 12min, sep 7, 1792 y)
