He is known for being one of the pioneers of the architectural renovation of the twentieth century and for the role played in the field of education, especially with the creation of The Bauhaus, school that will always be linked to his name. Although talking about the Walter Gropius, always be on the side of architecture, the fact is that, going into details, his name will also appear linked to urbanism and design. Both disciplines will go hand in hand with architecture, becoming the center of his life and, therefore, his profession.
His work is a clear example of the modernity of architecture, a sample of the ideas of the Bauhaus. It is characterized by simple and clear forms and by the use of novel materials, little used at that time. His works range from the creation of public buildings, to urbanizations and the making of large blocks of houses, responding to his concern for the social problems of urban planning.
