Description:
Between 1915 and 1922, Wright was commisioned to constuct the Imperial hotel for Japan. Wright threw himself into the work for the next few years, and once completed, he boasted that the building was 'earthquake proof'. Some doubted his claim, however during the 1923 Tokyo Earthquake, the imperial hotel was one of the few tall buildings remainig.Added to timeline:
