Second Peak of Immigration (jan 1, 1830 – dec 31, 1880)
Description:
The second peak had nearly 15.3 million immigrants consisting of mainly Irish and German people. War and famine drove them into moving to America. Transportation improvements like faster railroads lowered the cost of traveling so it made coming to the US easier.
