Afghan Revolt (jun 10, 1916 – feb 13, 1919)
Description:
In June 1916, following German and Turkish promises of support, the Amir of Afghanistan led his people to revolt against growing British influence in the country. While promised money, manpower, arms, and vast swaths of land in India and Central Asia, nothing arrived, and before long, the British were able to put down the revolt.
With Russia in chaos, the British established a formal protectorate over the country.
