Description:
Trans-Saharan trade is trade that requires the crossing of the Sahara Desert. Egyptians traded with Nubia by passing through the Desert, as did many other Middle Eastern civilizations. Trans-Saharan trade allowed for the spread of cultures and the Islamic faith throughout the Middle East. (2.3)
