Peloponnesian War (sep 23, 460 BC – jul 11, 404 BC)
Description:
The Peoponnesian War was fought between ancient Athens and Sparta first between 460 B.C.E to 446 B.C.E and then from 431 B.C.E to 404 B.C.E. This war was prompted by the Athenian control of the Delian league. Greek civilizations would make payments to a fund for when the Persians would attack again. The Athenians had other plans with this money and used it to advance their own society. Sparta did not like this when they figured it out and declared war against Athens Persia, still mad about the loss in the Greeco-Persian wars, finnacially supported Sparta. Sparta finally won the war in 404 B.C.E with the final Athenian naval ship going down.
