Battle of the Leyte Gulf (oct 23, 1944 – oct 26, 1944)
Description:
It is the largest naval battle of World War II. The USA troops want to reconquer the Philippines so they invade the island of Leyte in order to isolate Japan from the countries occupied and deprive them from vital oil supplies. Although the Imperial Japanese Navy manages to stop the invasion of the Philippines, the army cannot defeat the Allies and they suffer heavy losses. At the end, the USA defeats Japan.
