Ashoka (jul 15, 304 BC – jun 8, 232 BC)
Description:
Ashoke, also known as Ashoka the great, was the third ruler of the Indian Mauryan empire. He lived 304 B.C.E to 232 B.C.E and ruled from 268 B.C.E to 232 B.C.E. During his time as a ruler he was cruel and people still remember his prison that was deemed the name “Ashoka’s hell.” All forms of torture were permitted and nobody left alive. After an extremely bloody war, however, he converted to Buddhism. By the end of his rule, he controlled close to all of India except for one extremely southern part that he could have easily taken over.
