This war took place in Northeast of America including Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Maine. The leader of Indians was Metacomet and his English nickname was King Philip. King Philip has been prepared to start the war because after more colonists arrive America, natives’ territories are concerned. But the major event that triggered him to start the war is the trial in Plymouth Colony which resulted in three men in his tribe being executed. The war resulted in about 600 colonists and 3000 natives killed and 12 towns destroyed. King Philip was killed in August 1676 and the war ended in 1678. This war indicates the Natives’ awareness of rebellions, but colonists used the result of this war as a warning to other Native Americans.
