The Dred Scott Case (jan 1, 1857 – mar 6, 1857)
Description:
Dres Scott was a slave man who worked for a man from Missouri. The owner brought him to a slave state, then tried to bring him back to Missouri. Scott argued that he was a free man, he even sued him and went to the Supreme Court. On March 6, 1857, the court voted against Dred Scott because the person at the head of the case believed that black people weren't citizens and had no right to sue.
