Description:
Most often the symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress disorder was thought to be due to weakness of the soldier and it was often frowned upon. They named it nostalgia in the civil war and because of the unusual psychological effects that happened to the soldiers, a doctor Jacob Mendez de costa looked into this more and discovered that it was not just wounds that soldiers were suffering from but it was their cardiovascular system. He gathered that this was just an overreaction of the nervous system and called it “soldier’s heart.”Added to timeline:
