Hellenistic Philosophy (jan 2, 322 BC – jan 1, 1 BC)

Description:

The  Hellenistic  world,  the  result  o fAlexander  the  Great's  conquests,  was characterized  by  cosmopolitanism,  there finement  of  art  and  the  specialization of  knowledge  in  the  various  sciences.  With  the  disappearance  of  the  polis  as a  model  of  coexistence,  many philosophers  took  refuge  in  the territory  of  intimacy  and  individual happiness.  The  three  main  currents  of thought,  epicureism,  stoicism  and skepticism,  placed  special  emphasis  on moral  philosophy.
