Description:
We changed the vacuum tubes for something more reliable ;"Transistors". The transistor was invented at Bell Labs (NOKIA) in 1947 but did not see widespread use in computers until 1955.
The transistor were made out of silicon, allowing computeres being cheaper and more compact
