The Protestant Reformation (jan 1, 1517 – mar 30, 1648)
Description:
A change of how religion, especially that of the Protestant Church, was changed in part because of the Renaissance. With Martin Luther at the forefront, the growth of individualism was aided by challenges issued towards the authority of the Roman Catholic Church. Printing presses came to be and the Bible became more readily available to people outside of churches in multiple languages. This gave people the ability to interpret religion in their own way, whereas Protestant churches relied purely on what the Bible said.
With faith in the individual already growing faith in the church was weakened. This altered the hierarchical concentration of religious power in Europe. The sudden cahnge led to the political, economic and social situations altering as well.
