Almoravids strategical expedition (mar 14, 1090 – apr 14, 1102)
Description:
After the battle of Zalacca, with the request of Muslim in Spain to unify petty states in al-Andalus. These petty states incapable to fought the Alfonso. under his ruling, in 1090, he occupied Granada, march in the next year, Cordova fall under him without any oppression and he besieged Seville which Al-Mu'tamid surrendered himself and the city in September. The most imporant stages of the expedition was capturing Badajoz in 1094, Valenci in 1102 and Saragosa in 1110. Valencia was captured after the death of Al-Cid and managed by his widow for quite long time. the fall of Valencia became an indication of the military power of Al-Moravids over Alfonso.
