King Philip's War (jun 1, 1675 – aug 1, 1676)

Description:

Also called the Narragansett War, the war was between New England colonists and Native Americans. (Others: Northeast Indians, Metacom, Narragansett, Wampanoag) Took place on the East coast colonies. The cause was want of more land, but the igniting event was the execution of three of Metacom’s men by the colonists. A lot of colonists died, but they ultimately won and it began a period of expansion. Metacom was decapitated.
