- Marie Curie was born on November 7, 1867 in Warsaw, Poland and died on July 4, 1934 Sancellemoz.
- She died from Leukemia (blood cancer) caused by her long term exposure.
- She discovered the Radium and Polonium elements which helps people (especially with getting x-rays). They were also named after her home country, Poland.
- She discovered the process known as radioactivity and called the penetrating rays and particles emitted by a radioactive source, radiation.
- Her discovery of radioactivity disproved Dalton's theory that atoms were indivisible.
- Awarded the Nobel prize twice for Physics in 1903 and Chemistry (for her research on radioactive elements) in 1911.
