Massachusetts Bay Colony was established in 1630 in the present day east coast. Governor John Winthrop and Governor Tomas Dudley with a group of 1000 Puritan refugees. They were from England. The colony was founded because the Puritans wanted religious freedom. The colony ended up successful. (jan 7, 1630 – dec 3, 1630)
