First coding job as a contractor (nov 1, 2007 – jul 1, 2010)
Description:
I think, enough with school, time to make money!
I begin work as an application developer writing web applications and SQL reports.
I work closely with a group of sysadmins, DBAs, and developers. We always take our two 15 minute breaks. We drink code red.
I feel comfortable teaching myself to program as I work but begin to feel like I'm missing core concepts of software engineering.
I feel far away from being an actual engineer. (Later I'll learn that this is imposter syndrome, and it's really hard to shake.)
I decide to quit and take a job at a startup in Corvallis so I could be closer to Oregon State University and finish my Computer Science degree.
