Ernest Rutherford (jan 1, 1908 – dec 30, 1913)
Description:
New Zealand physicist Ernest Rutherford disproved the plum pudding model with his Gold-Foil experiment. This experiment involved flashing an alpha particle beam through a gold piece of foil. Most of the beam passed through the foil, but some particles were scattered in certain places. This lead to the conclusion that atoms had a dense nucleus where the atom's mass was condensed.
