Salem Witch Trials (feb 1, 1692 – may 1, 1693)
Description:
The investigations and prosecutions of over 200 people in colonial Massachusetts, starting in Salem, which resulted in the hangings of 19 people. While victims and/or their families eventually were given compensation, the effects of the loss of innocent lives and the strain placed upon the community were not forgotten.
