Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca (jun 17, 1528 – jan 18, 1536)

Description:

Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca was a Spanish explorer who was appointed second in command on the Navarez expedition. He was trying to claim land for Spain in Florida. While they were there exploring one ship crashed and one ship left them there. They were alone and used there one ship to go to Texas modern-day Galveston. He and his allies were making there way through Texas, in the end, it was only him and 3 other men. They made it to Mexico and saw more Spaniards and told stories of Texas and their Journey in 1536.
