Sieur de la Salle (1665 - 1687) (jan 1, 1665 – jan 1, 1687)
Description:
La Salle was a French explorer who was searching for the Mississippi River. He was not a very skilled navigator, and missed the mouth of the Mississippi by 400 miles. Instead, he made Fort St. Louis. His crew-mates blamed him for getting them lost, and killed him out of anger.
