Description:
Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca was a Spanish explorer who met the Karenkawa Native Americans while looking for the 7 Cities of Gold. He was the first to explore Texas and the first surgeon after taking an arrow out of a Native American. He got lost with a couple of his surviving crew; it took him 9 years traveling throughout Texas and Mexico to get to Veracruz.
