Description:
He was a Spanish explorer, who was the first surgeon, first historian, and the first one to explore Texas.Cabeza de Vaca and his crew-mates was captured by the Karanankawas and was made their slaves. When an indian was injured by an arrow, Cabeza de Vaca used basic medical knowledge and took out the arrowhead from the indian. He was then made a shaman for his work and went around to the other indian tribes with his crew-mates, teaching them basic medical skills.
Cabeza de Vaca escaped from the indians and went to New Spain. He told his tale to other conquistadors.
