Abbasid Caliphate (feb 5, 750 – nov 11, 1258)
Description:
The third Islamic Caliphate. They succeeded the Umayyads after a rebellion overthrew them. The Abbasids Improved Dar al-Islam by sharing booty and including all who wished convert, as well any who did not. The Abbasids also treated Sunnis and Shi'ites with equal respect. Though the Abbasids were not conquerors some small amount of land came under Muslim control during their reign.
