Start of the era of personal computers (jan 1, 1977 – nov 9, 1977)

Description:

By 1977, pre-assembled systems such as the Apple II, Commodore PET, and the TRS-80 (hereinafter referred to as the "Trinity of 1977" by Byte Magazine) 11 began the era of personal computers mass-marketed; much less effort was required to obtain a computer operating, and applications such as games, word processing, and spreadsheets began to proliferate.
The PC was strongly cloned, leading to mass production and consequent cost reduction throughout the 1980s. This expanded the presence of PCs in households, replacing the home computer category during the 1990s and leading to the current monoculture of architecturally identical personal computers.
