Korean War (jun 25, 1950 – jul 27, 1953)
The Communist KPA, under orders from Kim Il-Sung, invade capitalist South Korea. The invasion is later countered with a UN coalition under the command of US Army General Douglas MacCarther, a World War II war hero.
Despite numerous advancements on both sides, by the latter part of the war, the boundaries practically remained the same. The war would eventually cease when the United Nations, China, and North Korea signed an armistice at Panmunjom. However, as this was merely an armistice, it means that the war is still going on, but that we're currently living under a ceasefire that could easily be called off at any time.
