Trial of Tears (jan 1, 1838 – jan 1, 1839)

Description:

The migration route members of the Cherokee Nation. The federal government forced their removal from the southeastern United States to Indian Territory (Oklahoma). The trail originated in Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas Rivers. Referred to this journey as Nunna dual Isunyi, the “Trail Where We Cried.” The United States ordered troops into a cherokee territory to organize a forced removal.
