King Edward IV (mar 4, 1461 – oct 2, 1470)
Description:
Leader of the Yorkists during the Wars of the Roses. He won the throne from the Lancastrians, however, he secretly married Elizabeth Woodward, who was both a Lancastrian and a commoner, as well as a widow and a mother, all of which were controversial. This led to a new uprising against him by the Lancastrians, and his temporary deposition and then reinstation as king. Died suddenly at age 40.
