Description:
Lasted 7 months
Better organized than Jacquerie. It began as a protest against a tax levied to raise oney for a war on France, it wsa also fueled by post-plague labor shortages: serfs demanded the freedom to move about, and free farm workers called for higher wages and lower rents.
The protested demanded abolition of the feudal order, bu the king ruthlessly suppressed them. Nonetheless, in both France and England a free peasantry gradually emerged as labor shortages made it impossible to keep peasants bound to the soil.
