Description:

During the rule of shogun Ashikaga Yoshimasa, a civil war, the Onin War, broke out in the area around Kyoto and was fought all over Japan.

The Ashikaga shogun had grown so weak that a dispute for succession between two samurai families triggered the war. The first was Yamana Sozen and his rival was his son-in-law, Hosokawa Katsumoto.
