Some time after De Klerk unbanned the ANC (exactly how much time is unclear), Bell claims he cold-called FW de Klerk and offered his services."I immediately began thinking that I could -- and would like to -- get involved," said Bell.
In his interview, Bell points to this as the first international election he worked on.
