Colonist start to protest The reason why people protested was that British troops stationed in the colonies during the Seven Years' War. It required the colonists to pay a large amount of tax. King Goerge finally only put a tax on tea A large group of people were protesting and one protester threw a rock at one of the redcoats and this event was called the Boston massacre (feb 21, 1765 – aug 23, 1774)
