Description:
1. Paine was born in England in 1737 and worked as a corset maker
2. Two years later, his 47-page pamphlet sold some 500,000 copies
3. His sentiments were highly unpopular with the still-monarchal British government, so he fled to France, where he was later arrested for his political opinions
