American Civil War (0h 1min, apr 12, 1861 y – 0h 1min, may 9, 1865 y)
Description:
The American civil war was between the American Nationalists, the northern states, and Confederates. A number of southern states or the Confederates wanted to break away from the rest of the United States. The main reason for this movement was a disagreement about slavery. While most of the northern states had abolished slavery, the southern states relied heavily on slaves for their economic growth. The southern states attempted to form a separate nation where slavery would be legal. Britain declared a neutral and continued to trade with both the northern and southern states until the end of the Reciprocity Treaty. At the end of the war the Confederates surrendered, slavery was abolished and 620,000 of 2.4 million soldiers were killed.
