The most basic form of a gun emerged in the 11th Century AD (jan 1, 1000 – jan 1, 1100)
Description:
-More potassium nitrate was added in fire lances to maximize its explosive power.
-Making a more powerful explosion meant that the fire lances tube, which was made out of paper and bamboo, had to be replaced with something that could handle the explosive blast.
-The bamboo and paper was replaced with metal and the shrapnel originally used in the fire lance was replaced with smaller projectiles which fit into the barrel more compactly.
