Description:

"Found by hikers Sunday [2/13/83] afternoon near Mt Baldy" (EDTA 2/20/83).

"On Feb. 12, [1983,] the nude body of Geoffrey Nelson [...] was found on a freeway entrance in Garden Grove. The body of Roger [sic] DeVaul Jr [...] was found the next day between Claremont and Mount Baldy in the San Gabriel Mountains foothills" (VCR 5/18/83).

"Investigators from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office arrived to discuss the death of Roger Duvaul [sic] [...] whose body was apparently dumped on Glendora Ridge Road Feb. 13 [1983]" (OCR 5/19/83).

"Nelson was dumped on the Euclid Avenue on-ramp of the Garden Grove Freeway Feb. 12 [1983] and Duvaul [sic] was found the next day, 36 miles away, by hikers on a hillside near Glendora Ridge Road in the Mt Baldy area" (LAT 5/19/83).

"Nelson and DeVaul were last seen at about 1:30am on Saturday morning, Feb. 12, 1983. Nelson's body was found at 5:30am that morning [...] DeVaul's body was found near Mt Baldy in the Angeles National Forest the next day, Sunday, but evidence showed that he could have been dumped there as early as Saturday morning" (LAT 2/15/89).

"DeVaul's body was found the following afternoon near a road in the Angeles National Forest. Court records indicate he was strangled and sexually assaulted. The prosecution later would allege that the two men [Nelson and DeVaul] died at about the same time" (Last Ride, Ch.6).
