Description:

"It appeared the body had been at the location [for] a few days before it was discovered" (LBI 10/5/76).

** "A few" = three or four, so "a few days before the body was discovered" would have been Sept. 27th or 28th.


"This is the area on Murphy Canyon Road where the body of Donnie Whaley was found last week, strangled to death. If you drive this area regularly and if you happened to be there Saturday night [9/25/76] or Sunday morning [9/26/76] and saw anything unusual, contact the sheriff's office [...]. The youth, 12, was last seen at his home Saturday night" (LMLN 10/13/76).

** Note: I am taking this to mean that it was thought that Donnie was dumped at the location sometime the night of Sat., Sept. 25th or the morning of Sun., Sept. 26th.
