Description:

"RUNNING SPRINGS -- A headless and partially dismembered body was found in a plastic bag along Highway 330 near here Friday afternoon [9/14/79]. [...] The body was located after a motorist, aware that a car had crashed off the roadway in the same area Monday [9/10/79], told highway patrolmen of a strong odor there and thought it might be the remains of a traffic accident victim. [...] The bag was visible from the roadway and although the body was decomposed, it probably had not been there more than a day, detectives said" (SBCS 9/15/79).

"Officers believe the young man was killed two to five days before his body was found Friday. The head and body parts were 'probably' in the trash bin two days before they were discovered" (SBCS 9/17/79).

"Gregory Wallace Jolley [...] is believed to have been killed two to five days before his headless body was found last Friday [9/14/79] stuffed in a plastic trash bag off Highway 330, sheriff's homicide investigators said.
