Description:

"Found lying in some weeds north of the intersection of Highway 71 and Euclid Avenue early Saturday [9/30/78]. [...] Discovered by a hitchhiker who stopped a passing motorist. The motorist in turn notified authorities. [...] Investigators believe the man was dead before his body was dumped into the field and that he probably died sometime Friday [9/29/78]" (SBCS 10/1/78).

"Found by a hitchhiker Saturday morning [9/30/78] in weeds along Euclid Ave north of the intersection with Highway 71. [...] The naked body apparently had been brought to the scene last Friday [9/29/78] after the victim was dead" (CVN 10/4/78).

"Investigators believe the man was dead before his body was dumped into the field. He was discovered by a hitchhiker who stopped a passing motorist who in turn notified authorities" (SBCS 10/8/78).

"Crosby was last seen Sept. 28 [1978] when he left the home of his aunt, where he lived, and went to a movie in Torrance. He called his aunt at 10pm that night and said he would be home soon, investigators said. He apparently was hitchhiking and was never heard from again until body turned up in Chino. No clothing was found near the body which led investigators to surmise he was killed elsewhere and dumped in Chino the night before [he was found]. [...] There was no attempt to hide the body, which was in plain view of the road. The body was found shortly after daybreak by a hitchhiker" (SBCS 11/25/78).
