"Found June 22, 1974. He was last seen by fellow Marines two days earlier trying to hitch a ride to Los Angeles from near a bar in San Clemente" (1988 Scorecard).

"Died as a result of strangulation on or before June 22 while on liberty at Laguna Beach" (Obit 7/3/74).

"[His father] said he had talked to his son by telephone the night of June 21 and the Marine was taking a liberty pass to the beach from his assignment to a reconnaissance battalion of the First Marine Division at Camp Pendleton" (ADH 7/3/74).

"Found dead the morning of June 23 [sic] [1974]. [...] He was strangled and his body left in bushes at Laguna Beach while on a pass which began the evening of June 21" (Obit 7/6/74).

"Found strangled June 22 [1974]. [...] He was on liberty when he was killed. [...] Dickerson was last seen by fellow Marines on June 21" (SSJ 7/7/74).
