Description:

"Officers believe the young man was killed two to five days before his body was found Friday [9/14/79]. The head and body parts were 'probably' in the trash bin two days before they were discovered" (SBCS 9/17/79).

"Gregory Wallace Jolley [...] is believed to have been killed two to five days before his headless body was found last Friday [9/14/79] stuffed in a plastic trash bag off Highway 330, sheriff's homicide investigators said. The next day officers found the young man's severed head and 'other body parts' -- also wrapped in plastic trash bags -- in a garbage bin here [in San Bernardino]. [...] '[His parents] said [to investigators] that for the past two months they had been unaware of his whereabouts'" (SBCS 9/20/79).

"Jolley, of Jacksonville, FL, is believed to have been killed two to five days before his body was found. He was last seen Aug. 12 [1979] in Jacksonville when some friends dropped him off alone. [...] It is not known how long he was in California" (SBCS 10/12/79).

"[...] decapitated and mutilated body was found Sept. 14 [1979] in a plastic bag beside State Route 330. He was believed to have been killed two to five days before his body was found. [...] Jolley had last been seen Aug. 12 [1979] when he told friends he was hitchhiking to California because he wanted to see Disneyland" (SBCS 12/31/79).
