Description:

The Second Battle of Bull Run took place from August 28 to August 30 of 1862 in Virginia, and involved the Confederates fighting against the Union. During the battle, newer models of muskets were used which had greater accuracy than previous models, as well as the telegraph which made communication quicker and easier. The outcome of the battle was the Confederates beating the Union and allowed for a Confederate invasion into the North. This event affected the outcome of the war as it allowed the Confederates to launch an invasion into the North while scoring a big defeat onto the Union. This was important as it severely damaged northern morale and stopped the Union from capturing the Confederate capital of Richmond.
