Description:
- Nizamuddin Auliya was born in 1238 CE to Khwaja Ahmad, a descendant of the first Caliph, Abu Bakr.
- Renowned 14th-century Sufi saint of the Chishti Order
- Known as "Mahbub-e-Ilahi" (Beloved of God), he emphasized love, tolerance, and service to humanity, residing in Delhi during the Sultanate era
- Emphasized Wahdat-al-Wujud (Unity of Existence) and promoted Sama (musical gatherings/qawwali).
- Conflicting relationahip with Mubarak Khaliji and Ghiyasauddin Tughlaq.
- His disciples included the famous poet Amir Khusrau, Shaikh Nasiruddin Chirag Delhavi, Ziyauddin Barani
- His tomb, located in the Nizamuddin Dargah area of Delhi, has become a major pilgrimage site.
