Description:
Yitzhak Sadeh was one of the most important military leaders of the pre-state Jewish defense forces. He helped develop mobile defense tactics and became a major commander in the Haganah.
He is especially important because he founded the Palmach, the elite strike force of the Haganah. The Palmach later produced many of Israel’s future commanders and played a major role in the 1948 War of Independence.
