Joseph Trumpeldor (jan 1, 1880 – jan 1, 1920)
Description:
Joseph Trumpeldor was an early Zionist fighter, war veteran, and one of the most famous symbols of Jewish self-defense before the State of Israel. He served in the Russian army and later helped organize Jewish defense efforts in the Land of Israel.
He became especially famous after the Battle of Tel Hai in 1920, where he was killed defending a Jewish settlement in the Galilee. His legacy became a powerful Zionist symbol of courage, sacrifice, and the idea that Jews should defend themselves in their own land.
