Description:
The Ran was one of the most important Spanish Rishonim of the 14th century. He was a major Talmud commentator and halakhic authority, especially known for his commentary on the Rif and for his legal responsa. He continued the strong tradition of Spanish Torah scholarship after the age of the Ramban and Rashba.He represents the continuation of deep Talmud study and halakhic decision-making in medieval Spain.
