Resh Lakish, whose full name was Rabbi Shimon ben Lakish, was one of Rabbi Yochanan’s greatest colleagues. Rabbinic tradition describes him as a powerful and intense figure who became a major Torah scholar.His debates with Rabbi Yochanan are famous for their sharpness. Together, they represent one of the most important intellectual pairs in the Talmud.
